What comes to your mind when you think of Paris ? Various epithets are associated with this ancient city … timeless, glamorous, mythical, monumental, spectacular, charming, antique, magnetic, recognisable, elegant, impressive, gourmet and etc.
Start your walk with classic itinerary: the Eiffel Tower, masterpiece of architecture; Champs Elysées, the most beautiful avenue in the world; Louvre Museum, home of the magnificent collection of art. A few steps away from crowded streets you can feel the sophisticated atmosphere and the real life of city, smell the fresh artisanal baguette or listen to romantic French accordion.
Take a stroll along the Seine like locals do, have just a taste of cloud-light macarons accompanied with excellent coffee drink. Paris has perfected the café culture of sitting for hours, reading, sipping, discussing, and observing the passersby. It’s an ideal opportunity to discover its spirit.
The Parisienne have style in their blood, the food is deliciously delightful and art is everywhere. There’s something in the air that makes you fall in love with the city.
Oh! Paris! Sweet Dream! All these images keep circling in my mind, when I think of it. My acquaintance, Paul Zambrzycki has been there and kindly agreed to share with us his experience. Enjoy reading and you will truly love with Paris!

Yesterday I left everything I did, and I went to Paris. Sometimes I feel those irrational yearns and just need to do something foolish.
Who knows — it may be some kind of capricious outbreak or perhaps a call of ancestors — frequent guests of Hotel Lambert.
Sometimes when you feel depressed, you just go to Paris and you instantly feel better. Only a few will disagree.
I took a ride along the river and strolled down the alleys imagining leafs creating a stained glass window effect when penetrated by sun, just like on the paintings of Monet or Mehoffer. It was such a nice recollection of late Summer when the comming Autumn is still smiling — heart warming stream of consciousness when winter already settled for good.
But in Paris even winter is beautiful.
Wind brought fragments of romantic melody played on accordeon. Young couples in love walked along wide prospects and the delicate smell of fresh baked bread completed the picture.
Oh! — Paris.
Nobody here seems to care about the global crisis. It seems that Paris is the most crisis-proof place on earth. No currency fluctuations, international debts, credit rates or inflations can influence Paris in any way. Money here has a secondary meaning. What counts is the human values. Materialism ends here and «the existence does not form consciousness» any more. Theories of Marx crash against the final asymptote.
People of Paris are very kind and curious of foreigners. They gladly talk, smile a lot, invite to their homes, ask numerous questions about the homeland of the tourist.
Some stereotypes are true — they absolutely refuse to speak English.
They love their Eiffel Tower which clearly is the dominant of the entire urbanistic composition I do not remember who said that «Paris is the eternal city»
For sure it must have been a great thinker, and what is important — he was right.
Greetings from Paris,
Paul Zambrzycki
P.S.
Paris is located more or less in the middle between Madrid and Tokyo near the southern border between Sverdlovsk Oblast and Kazahstan.
Here in Ural we heard that in France they also have a Paris. Some people say so at least.
It is very nice that the French called one of their places after our town. Very kind of them. It is heart warming just like St. Petersburg in Florida
